A reputable client of which we have worked for many years required a service yard over 5,500m2 to reduce storage and transport pressures. KDS undertook the design and build of the project to convert brown field land adjacent to the main site, into a service yard. The work was fairly sensitive due to the close proximity of houses to the area, which meant a difficult planning process and the requirement for an acoustic barrier in the form of an earth bund and fencing. Processes included installing attenuation tank, separator tank, slabbing and the fencing as well as providing detailed designs and information to aid in obtaining permits for planning and discharge consents with local authority. We also had to injection grout and cap an old mineshaft located on the site which you can see as another project in our projects section.
